hi all
i have a problem with a piece of code

here is my problem

i have a date calculator which is linked to pay
at the moment it works when a payment period is for example 12/12/07 to 3/2/08
and the related pay is
up to 31/12/07 is £15 a day and from 1/1/08 is £20 a day
it gives out the right total amount showing on one output line 12/12/07 to 3/2/08 = £ xxxxx
but i need the sum to show the total as two seperate year totals eg the amount from 12/12/07 to 31/12/07 on one line then
1/1/08 to 3/2/08 on another line

many thanks for any help

i will try to explain better
it is also based on a six day week (sundays excluded)

at the moment the code works like this
each part has its own cell

rate total
from date 12/12/07 to date 3/2/08 £20 835

what i need for it to do is :
rate total
from date 12/12/07 to date 31/12/07 £15 255

from date 01/01/08 to date 03/02/08 £20 580

total amount owed £835

hope this explains problem better

Why don't you post the code you are using now. It sounds like it is a simple matter of math.

chrisadam2 wrote: I have a worksheet that keeps a year to date and month to date total of overages or underages (end of day cash reconciliation). I need to have a formula that clears the month or year to date total cell at the appropriate time and I want to do this independant of the year as I generate a new sheet every day and enter yesterday's numbers.

Did you want to post the spreadsheet you have in a zip file here? Makes it easier to help.
